Sania Mirza Out Of US Open 2010 Women’s Singles

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza losses US Open 2010 with a second round defeat from Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The Russian player Pavlyuchenkova won by 6-2, 6-4 and now ready to face Argentine Gisela Dulko in the third round of US Open 2010 Women’s Singles.

Sania Mirza won her opening match against Portugal’s Michelle Larcher de Brito 6-3, 6-2 on Monday. Sania’s best performance in a major came in this tournament in 2005 when she reached the fourth round.

Sania was outplayed in the first set, but She came back in the second and made it a tied 4-4 before she dropped her serve. The 23-year old Sania Mirza, now ranked 160 her highest rank was 27 in 2005.

This year seems to be unlucky for Sania as she had lost in the first round at the Australian Open and Wimbledon earlier this year.
