New Delhi: Hockey India president Vidya Stokes resigned from her post on Wednesday as per her commitment made to the Union Sports Minister to step down after the Commonwealth Games.
Stokes, however, attributed she could not spare enough time for hockey with her busy political career.
Stokes submitted her resignation to the Secretary General of Hockey India, General Narender Batra and gave the additional authority to discharge all duties as the interim President.
The 83 year old Vidya Stokes was elected Hockey India president barely three months ago on 5 August 2010 after defeating Pargat Singh.
