New Delhi: The unbeatable Wrestler Sushil Kumar and boxer M C Mary Kom were presented ‘Sportsman of the Year’ and ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ awards respectively at the Sahara India Sports Awards 2010.
Moreover, our very own Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, bagged the honours for ‘Cricketer of the Year’. He received the trophy from the former Indian cricketer, and captain Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid here on Saturday.
Indian Davis cup team was named the team of the year.
The title for best male and female athletes in the multi-sport extravaganza was given to the rifle shooter Gagan Narang, who bagged four golds in CWG in Delhi earlier this month and woman archer Deepika Kumari, who bagged two golds in CWG 2010, respectively.
The event got glamor with the presence of Bollywood actors and actress like Sonakshi Sinha and Shahrukh Khan. The King Khan performed at the event and invited the sportspersons to groove with him on the dance floor.
