South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini has decided to retire from International Cricket. However, he will continue to play in the domestic cricket.
The 33-year-old Ntini, was the first black African cricketer who played for South Africa. He has enjoyed a successful career with the Proteas, playing 101 test matches and taking 390 wickets. In ODIs, he took 266 wickets from 173 matches.
His best test performance was against the West Indies in 2005 where he took thirteen wickets. In ODIs, his best was against Australia in 2006 with six wickets for twenty three runs.

Though, he had been out of the national team for some time due to loss of form he remains the second most successful bowler for South Africa after Shaun Pollock.
After playing for 13 years in International matches for South Africa Ntini decided to retire saying, “It has been a wonderful journey for me to represent my country.”
