
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared its results for UPSC Civil Services exam 2011. And this time the IAS topper is a female from Tamilnadu, S. Divyadharshini.
This was her 2nd attempt at the prestigious examination, she has done B.A., B.L.(Hons.) from Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
While the second position has gone to Ms Sweta Mohanty from Hyderabad. Sweta Mohanty had completed her B.Tech. from Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad.
This year 5,47,698 candidates applied for the examination and 2,69,036 candidates appeared for the Preliminary examination, conducted on May 23, 2010.
A total of 920 candidates have been selected for various Services like Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS), Indian Police Services (IPS) and Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).
