IAS Topper 2011: S. Divyadarshini grabs First Rank in UPSC 2011

IAS Topper S Divyadarshini

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared its results for UPSC Civil Services exam 2011. And this time the IAS topper is a female from Tamilnadu, S. Divyadharshini.

This was her 2nd attempt at the prestigious examination, she has done B.A., B.L.(Hons.) from Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.

While the second position has gone to Ms Sweta Mohanty from Hyderabad. Sweta Mohanty had completed her B.Tech. from Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad.

This year 5,47,698 candidates applied for the examination and 2,69,036 candidates appeared for the Preliminary examination, conducted on May 23, 2010.

A total of 920 candidates have been selected for various Services like Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS), Indian Police Services (IPS) and Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).

    Hiii didi congrats once a again iam aurobindo from Orissa, iam preparing for the Civil Services i hv choose Indian History as 1st Opt. in Main paper and iam confusion what to choose for 2nd opt. subject as iam Commerce graduate so i should choose smthing from Comm. subject like Economics or something else to achieve good marks? as it is my current and last dream of my life and iam not getting full material of English Subject which includes (Play, Poem, Literature etc) So PLzzzz didi help me out!! But it is not my request, it is the request of every indian that you do your work for poor people because i think you know that poor people are facing lot of problems in our country. I m G.K.Manohar from Karnataka, I m working as a lecturer of English.I have appleid for IAS prelims this time, and this is mine first attempt.UPSC introduced new format for new aspirants from this year 2011, this was good but general aptitude paper(c-sat) is consisted some complex topics, no harship.I have chosen English Literature and Indian History for mains couild u help me how to read and how to prepare for prelims and C-SAT paper? and also how to collect the sources for that?
